Swadhaar FinServe Pvt. Ltd. (SFPL) is a leading Business Correspondent to RBL Bank in India, distributing a comprehensive range of financial services from the Bank, in particular loans and saving products to low-income households and micro-entrepreneurs. With a humble beginning in 2006 as a not- for -profit company, SFPL became a Non-Banking Finance Company in 2008 and converted into a pure distribution company as a Business Correspondent, in 2016, voluntarily surrendering the NBFC license. As one of the fastest-growing BFCs with a footprint across India covering 14 states and 1 union territory.

Customer’s Challenges

As a financial institute, they required high data security and encryption but managing dynamic keys allocation was a tedious task. They were facing high infrastructure management costs, procurement planning, as well as professional IT resource cost. They required centralized management for their IT infrastructure. They were also looking cloud-only approach for their future projects.

Orient Solution

Orient analyzed their IT infrastructure, databases, applications and proposed AWS cloud infrastructure respectively. MS SQL server was deployed considering high availability in multi Availability Zone and upgraded to version 2016. AWS Lambda service will be used for backup of Databases.

Result Achieved

Using AWS Cloud resulting greater flexibility and speed of implementation for their Application development work as a test and development environment can be made available anytime on-demand. AWS key management service helped in managing encryption keys which were used to secure data. MS SQL with log shipping resulting high reliability, performance, and speed. AWS infrastructure secured using Fortinet web application firewall. Baracuda email spam filter was used to limiting unauthorized emails. Automation of shutting down machines during known production hours resulting in cost savings up to 40%.
